Susan serves on the Advisory Board and the Education Committee for the AALTCN. Having worked in long term care for over 2 decades, Susan's primary professional experience is in the areas of incontinence and wound care assessment and treatment; she has taught at the bedside with front line caregivers as well as in the classroom setting in both of these clinical areas. She is a Certified Wound Care Nurse, Certified Wound Specialist, and Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. Susan also has experience in the area of Safe Patient Handling and has educated caregivers in various care settings regarding safe lifting practices. In addition to AALTCN, she is active in several other associations, including the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society, American Academy for Wound Management, NPUAP Collaborating Organization Council and a voting participate for the Avoidable/Unavoidable Pressure Ulcer Consensus Conference.
